Information

This ultra marathon takes place in August around the Island of Jersey, Channel Islands, UK. Trail Monkey are so excited to be taking over this iconic Channel Isles race after the great job Digby Ellis-Brecknell has done in creating this race and then keeping it going for the last 9 years.

At approximately 48 miles (77Km) and approx 5000ft of ascent  this race circles around the island following the stunning granite cliffs of the North Coast to the golden sands of St. Ouen’s Bay and the South Coast. The ultra race starts at the Steam Clock in St Helier and the first 10 miles are on road which can catch a few people out as it can give a false impression of that is to come. You then move onto the 12 miles of rocky coastal path. This section will put a dent in your average pace, but make it through this without breaking yourself and you'll be sure to make it to the end. The checkpoints are about 10 miles apart so come prepared! There are also gold, silver and bronze medals depending on your finish time, the perfect motivation to go back next year and see if you can calim that elusive gold!!

We are going to be celebrating ten years of this undiscovered gem of a race in 2020, and there will be a Ultra Option, A Marathon option, a Half-marathon option and also a 2 man and 5 man relay option, leaving runners no excuse not to get involved!! The marathon starts at CP 2 of the Ultra at Les Fontaines and the half marathon at the La Pulente end of St Ouens Bay.

Round The Rock has proved a favourite for many and they return year after year to soak up the relaxed atmosphere and testing course. Round The Rock is perfect race for those wanting to step up the distance and enter the ultra world or as training for a longer event..
