Information

Come and try track cycling at HHV! With friendly coaches and a relaxed atmosphere, our Track Tasters are perfect for riders of all abilities. This special session has been organised by mums, will be coached by mum and is exclusively for mums! Track Cycling offers the oppportunity to get some exercise and social time all in one, away from cars. Even if you're not looking for a new hobby, giving track cycling a go in an Olympic year will tick that extra thing off your bucket list and give you a new perspective on the achievements of those Olympians.

Our Track Taster Sessions are the first step on our cycling pathway, and are essential to attend before participating in any other track cycling sessions. The Taster will teach you the basic principles of track riding, and be a fun introduction to the sport.

  • You must complete a taster before riding any other session at HHV
  • This induction lasts 1.5 hours. Free bike/helmet hire included.
  • Lycra is not required, although we recommend that you don't wear anything too baggy - layers are recommended, as well as a warm jacket for after. Remember to bring water and a snack.
  • You can wear trainers for this session, but if you use cleats with your own bike, you are welcome to swap your own pedals onto our bikes to use with your own shoes.
  • Gloves must be worn
  • Please arrive 15 minutes before the session start time to complete the sign on process, to ensure that the session can start promptly
  • Please note that it is not possible for latecomers to join in.

You will receive an email ahead of your Taster session, outlining everything you need to know. If you have any questions before then, please email info@hernehillvelodrome.com.
