Adult Track Skills & Intermediate Training

A fun and dynamic session with different groups for different experience levels (see below for details), for riders aged 14+ years. We may split into two groups for some activities to make sure everyone gets what they want; whether that's a tough workout or a more relaxed pace focussing on skills. This is a great session to attend if you're a skills rider who wants to advance to more challenging sessions as you'll get the opportunity to ride with and learn from more experienced riders.

Skills Group - For riders who are newer to the track or who want a gentler session. If it's your first time after the Taster, we recommend attending our other Track Skills only session.

Intermediate Group - For riders with a training accreditation who want a faster training session.

Important: you must have completed a track taster before booking onto this session. Our Track Riding Pathway has more details about the progression you can make as you gain more experience on the track.

Skills sessions are the second step on our track riding pathway and will build your confidence and further develop the skills and fitness needed to participate in our more advanced track sessions. Skills sessions focus on the different group riding, bike handling and observation skills that are used in track cycling.

  • Lycra is not required, although we recommend that you don't wear anything too baggy - layers are recommended, as well as a warm jacket for after. Remember to bring water and a snack.
  • Check the weather! We run sessions throughout the winter, so please dress warmly and have waterproofs on hand. In the rare instance that we need to cancel due to snow/ice/high wind, we will endeavour to inform participants via email / social media at least 2hrs before the session.
  • Gloves must be worn
  • Hire bikes are available and included in the cost.
  • Please arrive 15 minutes before the session start time to get a bike and get comfortable to ensure that the session can start promptly
  • Suitable for riders who normally ride HHV Adult Track Skills sessions

Directions

We are situated at 104 Burbage Rd, London SE24 9HE. We’re a short walk (and even shorter cycle) from North Dulwich, Herne Hill or Tulse Hill overground stations and local bus routes can be found by clicking here. As you walk north-west along Burbage Rd (from the cross with Turney Rd) keep an eye out for some white curved walls, lovely wood panel gates and a small sign on your right-hand side.

We’ve a limited amount of free parking available on site but we encourage you to travel here by cycle or public transport where you can.

For more information about the recently updated traffic calming measures on Burbage Road click here or search ‘Dulwich Streetspace’. You can't access Burbage Road from the south (via the junction with Turney Road) on a weekday between 08:00-9:00 and 15:00-16:30. At those times you'll need to go via Half Moon Lane.
