'Rayne'deer Run 2019 - Marathon & 6hr Challenge Event.

Description

If you fancy joining Rudolph and his friends just before Christmas to bank some pre-festive mileage, why not join us at the anniversary of our sold out 'Rayne'deer run, a 6hr challenge event at our tried and tested Flitch Way Country Park venue.

Stretching for 15 miles through the Essex countryside between Braintree and Bishops Stortford, is The Flitch Way. It is the site of the original Bishops Stortford to Braintree Branch line, a single track railway, and was opened in 1869 and finally closed in 1969. Nowadays it is an important place for wildlife, and a perfect place for your next running achievement, whatever your chosen distance!

THE COURSE

The almost completely flat, traffic free, out and back course on hard-packed trail, will give you the opportunity to run as many or as few laps as you wish, within the time limit of 6 hours. The loops will be 5.3km in distance and so you will need to do 4 for a half marathon, 8 laps to cover full marathon distance, and then if you choose to continue, the clock will be your only limiting factor!

AID STATION

With an aid station at the end of every lap, you will have the ability to fuel yourself without having to carry everything you might need. You may leave a bag with your specific requirements at the aid station, for you to raid as you see fit! Alternatively there will be flapjacks, fruit and nuts, and also water and squash, should you feel like a change!

This event will be cuplessas we make a move to reduce plastic waste.  The first 25 entries will receive a reusable Hydrapak cup as part of their entry fee (you need to select the "free cup" option when entering)  - when they're gone, they're gone.  Don't worry though, after the promotion ends - they will also be available for purchase online.  All cups to be collected on race-day.  We will also have a stock of cups for purchase on race-day should you need one.

An opportunity to run on a fast, lapped course, without the need to carry your usual ‘clobber’ and with a sought after, unique, bespoke medal, this promises to be a fantastic event for runners of all abilities.  UKA Affliated Member & Race Permit issued by TRA and a 100 Club qualifiying event.
